The Aquatic Center offers an inexpensive refreshing splash of summer fun. The Aquatics Team offers private and group swimming lessons, youth swim lessons, and life guarding classes. The pool also hosts special events like triathlon, dive-in movies and a dog day at the pool. The pool can be reserved for private parties and unit trainings.
The Aquatic Center is located between the Fitness Center on the METC Campus and Salado Park. Pools may close without notice during inclement weather conditions, call to verify availability.
Certified lifeguards are on duty and easily identified with blue shirts. All lifeguards must annual recertification on CPR and First Aid.

The pool stretches 25-yards wide by 50-meters long and ranges from 4 - 12 feet deep. Coast Guard approved swimming devices are allowed, however inflatable floating devices are not. Diving toys, beach balls and other pool toys are subject to approval by management. (On crowded days, the lifeguards may have to restrict all such devices.)
The baby pool is open to young swimmers under age 6. Part of the pool is shaded and ranges from
1 -2 feet deep. Non potty trained children must wear swim diapers.
The tower slide is 42 feet tall and includes a 66 foot speed slide and a 304 foot curvy slide and drops into 5 1/2 feet of water. The drop slide has a 6 foot drop into 12 feet of water. The aqua climb starts below the water line and extends upwards by 3 meters at a 10 degree angle.
There are 3 lap lanes, kick boards and pull buoys are available for use to maximize your lap swimming or water walking experience. Fins, kick boards, snorkels, buoys and jogging belts may be used by lap swimmers in lap lanes only.
Patrons may rents the pool for private parties. The fee $100/hour and includes 6 lifeguards. Parties can be held before opening or after closing of the pool. During these functions there is no limit on non-ID cardholders allowed. The person renting the pool must be a DOD cardholder and cannot charge an admission fee.
The pool can also be reserved for training. The water temperature can be heated during winter months. Reservations should be made in advance to ensure facility space. For more information, contact the manager at (210) 221-4887.
Admission & Fees
The Aquatic Center is open to all DoD cardholders. Cardholders may sponsor up to 2 guests and are responsible for his/her guests. Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Children wearing flotation devices, to include life jackets, must be accompanied by an adult. Diaper aged children must wear swim diapers and diapers must be changed in the restroom.

The Aquatic Center is not responsible for personal belongings. Please do not bring valuables into the pool. Lockers are available to secure personal items such as clothes. We are not responsible for items stored in lockers and patrons must supply their own locks. Personal locks left on lockers will be removed.
